Michael represents commercial and industrial businesses and property owners in all aspects of real estate litigation. Michael has experience handling state and local property tax disputes, condemnation cases, valuation related disputes, lease and ownership disputes, and partition and waste claims. He has trial experience in Oregon's Circuit Courts and Oregon's Tax Court.
Michael was a commercial appraiser and valuation expert before he was a lawyer. For nearly a decade he specialized in complex business and real estate consultation and valuation projects. He uses his expertise as a former appraiser to help his business and real estate clients obtain excellent results in their valuation disputes.
Prior to starting his own practice, Michael was an associate with Tonkon Torp, where he focused on property tax appeals, eminent domain, and general real estate litigation.
A native of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Michael revels in Oregon’s outdoor recreational opportunities. He has run Hood to Coast 10 times, enjoys camping, mountain biking, playing soccer, and CrossFit. Michael loves playing Legos and wrestling with his son. He is also an avid reader whose favorite book is Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf. Michael is a member of American Mensa and has been a season pass holder at Mount Hood Meadows for almost 20 years.
